Mark's Involvement and Background
Here are some of the highlights of my involvement in Indian Prairie School District.  I have been proud to be a part of all of these groups and many more not listed.  

Indian Prairie School District Involvement

  • Have attended nearly every IPSD school board meeting since 2006-07 - Even before I was elected in 2011 I attended school board meetings!!  It is so very important to know the past of D204.  There is much to learn through our successes and our struggles while always continuing to improve and move forward. 
  • Indian Prairie Parents Council (IPPC)  – 3 years being an IPPC representative and also served as legislative and unity chairperson
  • Parent Diversity Advisory Council (PDAC) - Involvement in PDAC since 2007. Past middle school liaison and past executive board member (school board rep)
  • PTA and PTSA's - Have previously held multiple executive board and chair positions in our elementary, middle and high school PTA's and PTSA's. Still frequently attend PTA meetings at all levels
  • Special Needs PTA – Previous 1st Vice President and elementary and middle school liaison
  • Involved Music Parent and Athletic Booster
  • Indian Prairie Educational Foundation (IPEF) supporter

Community Involvement

  • In the 2019 - 2020 school year I personally attended over 100 D204 and community events to stay engaged with our students, parents, and community
  • Good Shepherd Lutheran Church - Youth leader and mentor for middle school students
  • KidsMatter - Board Member since 2019 - Current 
  • 360 Youth Services supporter
  • Frequently attend community meetings - Naperville City Council, Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation, Naperville Planning Commission, Aurora City Council, Aurora Planning, and attend many local legislative meetings  
  • Proven record of communication and collaborate frequently with all our local, county and state elected officials to influence their decisions on education issues that impact D204

  • Father of 2 daughters - 2016 and 2022 D204 Graduates
