An Experienced Leader, Delivering Results

Current 12-year school board member, 26-year resident, and over 22 years of involvement within Indian Prairie School District 204.  I hope to earn your vote for Re-Election to D204 School Board on April 4th, 2023.  Please take the time to read about me, my goals and priorities for the next 4 years, my community involvement, and my accomplishments.  To get in touch with me please email Rising204@gmail.com

March 10, 2023 - It has come to my attention that my name and face were included on a political mailer I was unaware of and never asked to be included on.  Since that time 2 additional mailers have gone out. Here was my statement on March 10 and January 23 regarding endorsements and being a part of political advertising or PAC's.

A Note from Mark...
Since moving into Indian Prairie School District 204 in 1997, my devotion to being an informed and involved parent has grown into a desire to serve our community.  I moved here (like most of you) because of Indian Prairie School District.  I constantly strive to be the best advocate for all of our 27,000+ students, parents, taxpayers, and residents of Indian Prairie School District.  I am passionate about our children's success so they are best prepared to excel in an ever-changing and complex world.

I am running for Re-Election to continue our academic excellence, remain fiscally responsible, to advocate for D204 and your family, and to increase communication and student, parent, and community involvement.

The challenges D204 faces in the upcoming years will require board members with experience in school funding, understanding of D204's goals and vision, and advocacy at the local and state levels.  I will continue to be present in our community while listening to you to ensure we keep Indian Prairie School District 204 one of the best school districts in Illinois (#2 Best K-12 District) and in the United States (#36 Best School District in the US out of 10,500+).

Sincerely,
Mark Rising

Daily Herald Endorsement 2019
"It would be difficult to find a board member who puts in more time in a variety of ways than Mark Rising, first elected in 2011 but who has attended most of the board's meetings since 2006. He's earned his accolades as a stellar board member and continues to do more, such as representing the district's concerns at several Aurora planning meetings on the potential redevelopment and tax increment financing district along Route 59. Rising is endorsed."

Naperville Chamber Endorsement 2019
"It is hard to find someone who has more passion or who has volunteered more for District 204’s students, educators, families and taxpayers than Mark Rising. Throughout his tenure the District has dealt with innumerable challenges, yet improved outcomes for students without overburdening taxpayers. Rising is a wealth of perspective and is a tireless advocate for the District. In the years ahead, Rising will keep a careful watch on the District’s budget and how economic development incentives in the area will impact the District’s ability to provide a first-class learning environment for students. Rising is an incredibly effective Board member and the District is fortunate he is willing to continue to serve, he is endorsed.”
